Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor types a name, location, or another query into a search box, that entry goes to the third-party provider operating the tool. Braxton County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy rules govern its receipt and handling of the query.
Emails and Other Messages
If you email us or send a message through an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Purposes for Using Data
Collected information is used for limited operational and service purposes.

Outside Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to WVDCR, Braxton County offices, courts, release-record resources, federal locators, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy notice and terms control. Braxton County Released Inmates does not set those outside practices.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's technology, not through a separate user profile maintained by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by the following parties when needed for the purposes described in this notice:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Data Security Practices
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website, transmission method, or internet-connected storage system is fully secure. We cannot promise that a breach, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or affected person believes a minor submitted personal data, use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and a verifiable request, a person may ask to exercise the following rights regarding personal data we hold:
- Receive a copy of the available personal data
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of eligible information
- Opt out of certain forms of processing
These choices apply to information controlled by Braxton County Released Inmates. A request concerning a linked government office, search provider, analytics service, or ad network must be sent to that organization.
